Back in 1990 a little kitten came in and so many people said that she looked so much like me that we must be related. Well, although we are the same color, we are very different in every other way. I am very proud of my appearance, and remember that I am very feminine. Pandy is a big tom-boy and has to be reminded to clean herself. She will go romp in the woods with the mice and chipmunks all day and then come in with leaves and dirt all over her. I would never let myself be seen like that. She is much more carefree than I am with all my shelter responsibilities. I have let her write my column, but she still has some trouble with spelling.
In June of 1997 someone came in and said there was a kitten in the yard. When Brenda went out to look she found a tiny 5 week old kitten who looked just like me! He was cold and wet from being left out in the rain, but he was soon dry and purring happily. He quickly decided that he belonged here and I didn't argue since he is such a character and we all need something to laugh about now and then. He is growing so quickly. It is nice to have a man around the house.
I have many human friends also. Pat has been here longer than I have and is the reason that my house is such a nice place for all my friends. She has helped me fight for the rights of pets all across West Virginia. Terri is a Humane Officer. She has a very hard job. She has to go out everyday and talk to people who are not taking care of there pets. She is very smart and I respect what she does. Brenda is also a Humane Officer, but she stays at the shelter to care for us and talk to people who call or come in. She is so good to us and makes sure we get treats every day. Jenny is a volunteer who comes in and helps clean my house. She is always willing to play with us and make sure we are happy. Jodi is our part time attendant. She used to work for a vet and is very smart and helpful. She likes to bathe the puppies so they smell so good. I also have many human visitors who come to my house just to see me and bring treats for all my friends.
